  一、五种衔接首句的方法

  1.延续首句主语,复现首句关键词

  As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared. “Don’t panic!” he handed each one a wet towel, helping them clean the mess quickly. After that, Jeff stammered out their plan, his face flushing. However, Father laughed, “Sounds great! I can teach you to cook.” At this, Jenna and Jef almost jumped to their feet, joy in eyes. Under his careful guidance, it didn’t take long before the French toast and chicken porridge were ready. Everything settled, Father left the kitchen, promising to keep their secret.

  2.描述首句引发的反应或动作(movement)

  We had no idea where we were and it was getting dark. The only light came from the faint glow of the moon and the occasional flash of lightning.(环境描写) We got stuck in the forest. And an unexpected shower added to the difficulty of us in finding a way home, for all the tracks we had made disappeared because of the rain. I was almost on the edge of breaking down when my father said, “Don’t worry, my son. I remember there is a river near the farm house. Find the river and we will be back home.” Finally, we found the river and got back to the house along it. Needless to say, we ate a late dinner.

  5.结合法(场景描写+描述反应和动作/复现)

  At last, the town came into view but the sledge gave strange sounds. Barely slowing down, he went through the icy streets, avoiding anything that could met the sledge. And the sledge only stopped as he neared the doctor's house. The sledge, survived through the journey, broke down finally. Bob picked up his Jan eagerly and gently and made his way into the doctor's house. Luckily, Jan recovered fully from her fever. Love always makes miracles.
